"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: I NEED YOUR HONEST ASSITANCE

From:Mrs.Joyce Lucas,
Johannesburg,South Africa.
ATTN:Dear, Sir/Madam

I am Mrs.Joyce Luca's , the wife of late Engineer Abraham N, Lucas ,of Bulawayo-Zimbabwen. I am now residing in South Africa as Asylum seeker (Refugee) In April 2003,my husband lost his life during the crisis in our country and some of his investments were confiscated. I have contacted you to assist in transferring most especially, the money left behind by my husband.

The fund is presently in the custody of securities and Finance Company. Particularly, the security Company where this account valued at aboutUSD$18,000,000 (Eighteen million United States Dollars) has issued me a notice to come and claim the the fund.

I seek your consent to assist us by providing a bank account which would be used to move the money out of South Africa because my present status(Refugee) would not allow me to do this transaction. You will assist us and invest the money in any business you know that will be profitable until I have the necessary papers to come with my son to your country.

All I require is your honest cooperation to enable us transfer this money into your account. May God bless you. I await for your quick response.

Best Regards
Mrs.Joyce N, Lucas.
