"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: MY LIFE AND OUR FUTURE

Dear Friend I Am Mr Alabi
The only son of Mr Osaro Alabi As a matter of fact, I lost my father on the 4th of January 2008 and he was buried on 9th of the same month. However, he left something very crucial and important for us to which my mother, and my sisters and I are the only people aware of it. Now, my partner you are the next person to hear it. because Nigerian Government are after us. Actually, my father served in Nigerian Police Force for 32 years of his active life. Good enough, under Inspector General of Police, Mr. Tafa Balogun, he was made a Commissioner of Police in Abia state of Nigeria . Based on several allegations leveled against them, their tenure was prematurely terminated. They were alleged and accused of fund mismanagement and consequently they were discharged of their official duties. Thus, my father and four (4) other Commissioners including the Inspector General (IG) were taken to Economic and Finance Crime Commission (EFCC) Headquarters Abuja , where they were probed
and found guilty of the allegations. As a result, most of their personal belongings were seized and impounded by the agents of EFCC including my father’s Duplex in Enugu and two (2) of his exotic cars. But, before then, my father siphoned a huge sum of Twelve Million, Eight hundred thousand US dollar (US$ 12.8M) in one of the security companies in Jakarta Indonesia . Moreover, the fund was disguised as a Safety Box by my father so that nobody will know the real content of the box. Even till this very moment, nobody has unraveled or knows the actual content of the Safety Box except my family members. And just only 3 of us are the beneficiaries. Now, the security company has contacted us to come and claim the Safety Box. But, there is one problem. The fund cannot be brought back to my country Nigeria because if we should do that, the Nigerian Government will accuse us of money laundry and seize the fund which my father suffered and died for. Now, my family cannot fold their
hands and watch this huge sum of money taken away from us. Thus, we decided to contact a trusted foreign partner. The dice was cast and it fell on you. this is a top secret and it has to remain very confidential until the fund is completely transferred into the Account Number and a copy of your inter. Passport and your phone numbers and your contact add which you shall put forward to us.
Finally, 30% of the total sum has been set aside, that is, the 25% of it will be for you for helping us secure the money with your Account and the 5% left will be set out to carter for every expenses that may be incurred at the course of this transaction. Then, the remaining 70% which belongs to my family shall be invested in your country under your guidance. My sisters and I shall come over to your country as soon as this transaction is completed to enable us invest the money wisely while
We are looking forward to seeing your urgent and favorable reply. God bless you

Thanks
Yours partner
Mr Alabi
