"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: From Miss Florence Michael.Dearest One.

Dearest One,

Greetings to you, I know this letter will be strange to you. It comes from a young 21 years old girl held up in a war country, Ivory Coast (Coté d' ivoire). My father was in government in Sierra Leone for about 3 years we had no problems untill
Johny Paul Koroma seized power. My father ran with me here and we decide to
take refuge here in Ivory Coast. Things have been ok untill the killings
and political situation here become a problem. Now he is late and have made investments for me here, but the situation here is so bad and the building
stand to be taken away by those supporting and those not supporting the government.

My problem is before the death of my father he deposited some fund with a bank amounting to $8,500,000(Eight million Five hundred thousand dollars),
And the only option is for me to contact a reliable friend with a
fatherly and motherly heart to help me transfer the fund to a safe country, Then i will move and continue my education there, I promised that whoever
help me,i will stay with the person, since my both parents are not alive as
well. My relations have made effort to come here and pick whatever belongs
to our family but i refused them because they will leave me without
anything for my education. Pls. help me, i compose this letter with tears.

I am presently in the refugee camp here,i promise anybody that will help
me that i will stay with Him or her. Pls. help me out of here, the peace
efforts here is not working and rich families are running out. I dont want
to trust blindly so that i will not lose everything i have inherited from my late father.
i pray God to give you good health of mind and body.
Hoping and praying to hear from you urgently.
Thank you and God bless you
Mss Florence Micheal.
