"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: DEAR FRIEND

DEAR FRIEND
I am Dr Albert Young, Chairman foreign contract payment committee
of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture,Nigeria.

By virtue of my commitee and the power bestowed on us by the
Federal Government of Nigeria to scrutunize all contract executed
between January to December 2007 by foreign contractors and
recommend them for payment , We carefully and deliberately over
invoiced some contracts in the Ministry of Agriculture to the tune
of USD38.5m(thirty-eight million,Five Hundred Thousand, United States
Dollar)

All the contract awarded and executed within the period, and still
awaiting payment, including the above over-inflated sum has been
duly certified and recommended for payment by my Commission to
the Federal Government

Already, payments are about to be made by virture of the committee's
recommendation hence, I want you to assist me to receive the money into
your personal account for our mutual benefits since the law of my country
does not permit us as civil servants to own a foreign Bank account while
in the
service.

We have agreed that whoever that assist us for this purpose
will be compensated with 25% of the total sum
I will send you details of the contract awarded and executed as
soon as i confirm your interest to assist

interest by a return e-mail to albert_young2@hotmail.com and
