"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Cocoa exporting board here in Abidjan until his death. He was assassinated
by the rebel troupes fighting to take over the government of the country on
the 27nd September, 2003. The death of my husband has exposing me to danger
and sorrow.

Before the unfortunate death, my late husband had in his personal account
with bank here the sum of $13.4m. As a result of the present insecurity of
lives and property in this country I humble request that you will assisted
me using your foreign account in your country to transfer the balance of my
husband's account with another money which i have. Again to assist me
immediately with a letter of invitation that will make me and my two sons

get a visa to your country for residence in order for me to continue invest
the fund in a viable business venture and associate with your foreign
