"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: INVEST WITH YOU US$7.5 MILLION DOLLARS

INVEST WITH YOU US$7.5 MILLION DOLLARS
From: Mr. Gerrit M. Rooth,
UMS BV, Amsterdam-Netherlands.

Dearest,

I am Mr. Gerrit M. Rooth, working in the above mentioned company and i strongly believe that for the sake of God, you will exhibit a trust worthy character when you receive these consignments. While in my department, i discovered an abandoned consignment containing US$7.5 Million United States Dollars in the file that belongs to our foreigner customer, Late Mr. Andreas Schranner, a renowned German real Estate/property magnate. Mr. Andreas Schranner, his wife Maria, their daughter Andrea Eich, his son in law Christian, and their children Maximilian and Katharina, all perished on Wednesday, 25th July, 2000 plane crash in western German city of Moenchengladbach. Please Click here and find out what happened to the Mr. Andreas Schranner:

After further investigation, l also discovered that Mr. Andreas Schranner did not declare any next of kin in his official papers including the paper work of his deposit. So, ($7,500, 000.00) Seven Million Five Hundred United State dollars is still lying in our custody and no one will ever come forward to claim it. What bothers me most is that according to the company laws and guidelines stipulate that if the consignment remains unclaimed after Eight years, the company will confiscate it and revert the fund into the company's treasury as an unclaimed bill if nobody applies to claim the funds. Against this backdrop, I will like you as a foreigner to stand as the next of kin to Mr. Andreas Schranner so that you will be able to act on his behalf and receive his funds.

I have always wanted to help the poor and needy. This certainly would be a chance to put my dream into reality with a considerable percentage of my share of the funds, i have decided to offer you with 35% of the deal if you indicate interest, 5% mapped to cover any incidentals expenses that will be incur in course of transferring this fund into the account that you will provide while 20% will be for your choice of charity home and 40% shall be for me and I shall come over to meet you so we can then share the valuables in this consignment.

To ensure a successful actualization and transfer of these funds into your bank account without a hitch, you are therefore advised to keep every information relating to this transaction highly confidential until the transaction is successfully concluded.

Please feel free to seek whatever clarification that you may deem necessary as I will be please to clarify you and upon receipt of your email I shall furnish you with step by step on how this fund will be transfer to your bank account for our mutual investment project.

Your earliest response to this letter will be appreciated on my private email: m.rooth@yahoo.co.uk

With regards,

Mr. Gerrit M. Rooth.
