"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: CAN I CONFIDE IN YOU?

Attn Dear,

This mail must have reached you because of your impressive records and
profile I found in your internet record, I am deeply pleased and decide
to send you this mail to confirm your person and carry out this little
obligation for me.

I am Dr. Nelson John from Cotonou Benin Republic, I am presently in a
dilemma as I have been confirmed to die within the next three weeks
because of my internal ailment (Cancer of the lungs), I have so many
things to explain to you at the moment if I can see you personally but
this may not be possible for now pending your communication with me.

I am a staunch disciplinarian, educationist and kind hearted, this is
the most fascinating attribute I found in your profile that endeared me
to send you this mail, I have little to offer to the needy from the
reserve left of my money, this I will want you to help utilize in my
name if you know you can afford the time.

I am week and will need you to contact me back directly on my personal
email( johnnel@j-mail.info ) for details of my life and the little
charity project, I will await your direct reply with your full names as
found in your profile for confirmation and the details you may require.
