"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.

Dearest Good Friend

I am very pleased to writ you

My name is Mrs.Mary Ali from the republic of Kuwait. I was married to late Dr. Ibrahim Ali who worked with our Embassy here in Ivory Coast for nine years before he died in 2006 . We were married for eleven years and our marriage was blessed with a child, Mustafa. My late husband died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days.

Before his death we were both faithfuls in the things of God and have sown into charities. Since my husband's death I decided not to remarry, but feeling quite lonely if not the Lord who has been my partner and comforter. When my late husband was alive we deposited the sum of 5 Million Euros with a Bank here in Ivory Coast (otherwise called Cote D'Ivoire). Presently this money is still in the custody of this Bank here.

Recently, my Doctor told me that I would not last for the next four months due to my cancer problem. Having known my condition I wish you to secure this fund as the new commissioned beneficiary for the purpose of assisting the less priviledged/ charity and the maintenance and education of my only son, Mustafa, who is now 16 years old because i am unable to handle this due to my bad health situation.

I would have loved to carryout this noble responsibility myself but could not do so due to my health problems. You will invest and manage 40% of the total fund for my son, Mustafa; use 40% in promotion of charity and humanitarian work while the remaining 20% is for your labour and any incidental expenses that may arise.

I look forward to receiving the under-listed information from you to enable me get the necessary documentations that will facilitate the smooth transfer of the fund with difficulties.
