"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

*Good Day,
*

*I am Mr.PAUL DUBE, a Financial Auditor who work in First National Bank of=
South Africa (FNB}. I have decided to send this proposal to you after som=
e due deliberation. kindly permit me of my desire to inform you about the =
fund transfer of US$18,500,000.00(Eighteen Million Five Hundred Thousand U=
nited States Dollars) into your reliable bank account as the sole NEXT OF =
KIN to my client, Dr.George Brumley Jr, foreign deceased customer of our b=
ank and a renowned/retired medical doctor/surgeon from Atlanta USA. He ope=
ned a fixed deposit account, under my professional guidance which he desir=
e to fall back no all through his retirement. He was killed with his entir=
e family in a PLANE CRASH in Nairobi Kenya on Monday 21st July 2003.Click =
the website below and find out what happened to the Dr. George Brumley Jr =
and his entire family:

*After further investigation as I try to pay his Next of Kin, l also disco=
vered that Dr. George Brumley did not declare any next of kin in his offic=
ial papers including the paper work of his bank deposit. l remember he als=
o confided in me the last time he was at my office that no one except me k=
new of his deposit in my bank. Right now, Eighteen Million Five Hundred Th=
ousand United States Dollars is still lying in our bank and no one will ev=
er come forward to claim it. What bothers me most is that according to the=
financial policy of my country, at the expiration of a numbers of years, =
this funds will revert to the ownership of the South African Government as=
unclaimed funds if nobody applies to claim the funds.=20

Against this backdrop, my suggestion to you is that I will like you as a f=
oreigner to stand as the next of kin to Dr. George Brumley so that I will =
use my power as his personal accountant to make you be able to receive his=
funds as the Next Of Kin. Should you be interested please send me your fu=
ll names, brief description of your occupation, direct telephone and fax N=
umbers and I will prefer you to reply me on my personal e-mail address giv=
en above:*
