"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: DEAR FRIEND.

Dear friend, I have to reach an agreement with you to transfer the sum of five million United States Dollars (US$5M) into your account, as you are going to apply as the Next of Kin/Beneficiary/Survivor to LATE MR.KEN HORNE, so that his fund can be release into your account, as I have resolved after a long fruitless effort to contact his relatives.

I shed tears when i thought how the fruit of Labour of my client, late Ken Horne, will be Lost to the bank as profit, whom had already started using the fund in the account as loan to make profit, with negligence to protect this account. I want you as a matter of utmost urgency to co-operate with me, so that I shall send you the account documents from his account file and you shall contact the bank, to release the funds to you as the Next of Kin,to have the fund in the account be paid to you as his sole beneficiary/Next of Kin. I will immediately send you the text of Next of Kin application letter as soon as I secure our co-operation. I will provide you with every other information needed for this transaction, upon your urgent response. LATE MR.KEN HORNE was a Las Vegas chess organizer; he died on a Airplane Crash 20th August 1999. For more about his death visit this website: http://www.ishipress.com/horne.htm

I shall be expecting your Urgent Co-operation immediately, and would assume you are not interested if you don't respond urgently. Send your Phone Number for our easy communication, which is very paramount, and Fax Number if available. Bye for now, until I hear from you. Best regardsBarrister Vincent Odama,ESQ.
