Jesus warned of the same lifestyle and encouraged us to invest in eternal treasures. Jesus Christ said to them, watchout be on your guard against all kinds of greed a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.(read-luke 12-13-21)

We Christ follower can practice fraud by refusing to help people who are less fortunate- perhaps a poor family ao individuals in the church.Maybe a missionary cannot go to the field because we withhold financial support that we can afford. The very problme my inter-net ministry is going through for years.Not only my ministry,missionary on foreign soil labors under difficulties because of insufficient funds.Are we guilty of stuffing our bank accounts while our brothers and sisters in the Lord are suffering financial need? James warned the rich that their wealth had become valueless because of the way they acquired and failed to use it.He denounced their misuse of opportunity,people and money.Divine judgment will certainly fall upon them.John wesley could have similarly attested to power of denying the temptation to love money.He wrote" I fling money out of my hand as quickly as possible,lest it find its way to my heart"He dead almost penniless,but contented,for his trasures were laid up in heaven.in contrast,Andrew carnegie,made this observation,Millionaires who laugh are rare.James addressed the issue of hoarding what can't be kept while other suffer great need: such will have little cause to laugh.(read-James-5-1-6) Scripture to memorize 1-Timo-6-9.
The words of James,though ought to keep us on guard against embracing the materialistic philosophy of our generation.Satan can keep Christians so busy thinking how wonderful it would be to be a millionaire that they forget that their weekly paycheck belongs to the Lord.the question is not"what would you do if you had a lot of money?Rather it is"what do you do with the money you now have?
Wise stewardship involves supporting the Lord's work cheerfully an faitfully.Food for thought"in the world,it is not what you take up,but what you give up,that makes us rich.
It is conforting to kown that the injustices and convetousness of the greedy do not go unnoticed by God.To be sure,the Lord is not opposed to the rich,nor does he condemn riches per se,but He does condemn sinful attitudes and actions frequently associated with riches.James wrote to express God's displeasure with those whose corrupt them.
James urged rich people to think seriously about future judgment.No doubt,divine judgment and financial loss were the last things the rich wanted to think about,but they needed to be called into account.James reminded both saved and unsaved rich that no amount of earthly wealth is eternal.Money cannot win God's favor or buy eternal life.
