"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Hello Dear.

I am writing with trust that this message will reach you in good condition. My name is Michael C. Taylor from Liberia . I am 24 years old and presently living in the Gambia . My purpose of contacting you is to plead with you over helping me to ship my inherited 275 kg gold dust with its purity 93.2 into the market for sale. I inherited the gold from my late mother Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor. The 275 kg gold dust is deposited in a security/insurance company in the Gambia and I wish to dispose of the entire gold now so that I can use the fund to establish myself. I could not be able to ship the gold into the market because of my financial position. I have no means to provide the export government tax and transportation cost, this is the most reason I’m pleading with you to assist me in moving the gold into the market. The price I wish to sell the gold is $15,500 per kilo and I will be glad to compensate you with 5% of the total value of the gold for any assistance you may give to me, however whatever you spend to move the gold will be deducted once the gold is sold. I will also appreciate it if you can come down here in the Gambia to purchase the gold from me and handle the shipment by yourself. The hindrance I’m having is that most serious gold buyers always want the gold shipped to refinery before they can make payment and my problem is that I do not have the means to move the gold to any refinery and moreover there is no gold refinery in this part of Africa .

I know there is much internet fake proposal going on but please I want you to consider my proposal genuine. I’m a legitimate son to Charles Taylor the former Liberian president though other members see me as illegitimate son because my late mother never wished to make trouble with the first wife and her children. Since the death of my mother I have decided never to go back to our family. Please dear help me in any way you can to move this gold from here and have it sold. I have all documents for the gold and I’m ready to cooperate with you. I will stop here so far with hope and trust to hear from you soonest. God bless.

Sincerely,

Michael C. Taylor.
