"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

An email address listed inside this email has been used in a known fraud before.
This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.
The following phrases in this message should put you on alert:
- "hundred thousand us dollars" (they want you to be blinded by the prospect of quick money, but the only money that ever changes hands in 419 scams is from you to the criminals)

This email lists free webmail addresses. Use of such addresses is typical for scams. Lotteries, banks and any but the smallest of companies do not normally use such addresses. Criminals use them to anonymously send and receive email at Internet cafes.

I am Mavis live in Malaysia, I'm mixed race, my dad is from Botswana while my mom is a native of America, I'm the only child and My parents died three years ago in a fire outbreak.

I registered on a dating site, where I meet one Malaysia woman who proved that she loves and she wants me. We talked for one month and some weeks. After i have told her everything about me how my uncles and some of our members have conspired and sale some of my dad's properties to one Italian company and still be threatening to eliminate me because of what??? they said that my mom came with my pregnant that in Botswana their culture does not allow such child to inherit any thing from his father,so after i have explain everything to her, the Malaysia woman convinced me to come and live with her pretending with my true Love to her. Then i send the conssiment throug Security company before my arrival to malaysia she clear the money from the security company before my arrival to Malaysia .

The sum of Four Million Five hundred thousand US dollars,just tthe sales some properties that i have gotten from my dad business. Because she told me of an idea to investment in oil firms here.One day she told me that she is going for just two days to visit her mother in there village when she comes back we can start our project i told her that is good idea,after two weeks she is not back home i tried to get her on phone but i couldn't,the next thing i see some men in the house telling me to get out of the house i told them that am the owner of this house and finally let me know that the house was sole to another person and they call police for me,i never set my eyes on my girlfriend again till today with my money.

Now i make another move to get out of malaysia,i now called one of my dad's company which the family is not aware of to arrange some money for me,but the problem am having now is that the money will be send through Security company to thailand that is why i contact you,with believe and trust in you,i can give you the security company contact for you to contact them before my arrival to thialand.I still have many other things to tell you about but i want to hear from you first.

So i want the conssiment sent to you while I catch up with you as soon as it can be delivered to you while I come over to meet you and invest in any business you have idea of with the money.

I am counting on you with trust and I will appreciate your trust towards this and hoping to hear from you and to meet you in person. Let me hear you as soon as possible, so that I can give you the deposit details and the contact of the security company to arrange the shipment ASAP. I will wait for your response.
