"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Mr. Garry Calton of Tampa, FL 33629, a citizen of USA

Hello,

I am Mr. Garry Calton of Tampa, FL 33629, a citizen of USA, 64yrs Old. I'm among those foreign contractors that executed contract with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Nigeria many years ago, but due to subsequent changes in the Government of Nigeria, i have not been paid, I had paid over $158,000 while in the US, trying to get my contract payment all to no avail.

Luckily enough, I was directed to meet Engr. Peter Ani, who is the Chairman, Contract Award Division of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, where the contract was originally awarded and executed by me, my encounter with him was the beginning of a turning point in my life.

Engr. Peter Ani took me to the Federal Government of Nigeria paying bank, ECO- BANK PLC. For my contract payment, were all my information’s regarding my contract payment was finalized after following due process. Right now I'm the happiest man on earth because I have received my contract funds to the tune of $9.5 million. However, Engr. Peter Ani, showed me the full information of those that are yet to receive their contract payments there I saw your e-mail as one of the contractors yet to receive, hence I decided to e-mail you so as to stop dealing with those Government corrupt officials claiming to make payment to you, they are not with your fund, they are only making money out of you. I will advise you to contact Engr. Peter Ani as he is the only accredited Government official to make payment to you

You have to contact Engr. Peter Ani directly on this information below.

Engr. Peter Ani,
Chairman, Contract Award Division (NNPC),
Telephone: +234-7070161267,
