"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

My name is Richard Thomas (ESQ). I am the Personal Assistant to the great Atlanta Physician and Philanthropists. On behalf of the Trustees and Executor of the Estate of Late George Brumley, I wish to notify you that my late client made you one of the beneficiaries of his estate. He left the sum of Seventeen Million One Hundred Thousand Dollars (USD$17,100.000.00) to you. This may sound strange and unbelievable to you,but it is real and true.

Late Mr. Brumley and all his family were among the victims that died in a charter plane crash on Mount Kenya . The flight crashed into the snow-capped,16,355-foot Lenana Peak on Mount Kenya destroying the entire plane and killing passengers on board. My Client died on the month of July 2003 at the age of 68.
