"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Sir/Madam,

Firstly, let me start by introducing myself. I am Mr.Frank Bongani, a father of three children and the personal assistant, director of financial protocol to the recalled then president of South Africa, Mr. Thabo Mbeki who was recalled by the ruling party African National Congress (ANC) ON THE 21ST SEPTEMBER 2008.The news that our former president was recalled was unexpected; it made headline news around the world and was a shock to us serving with him.

However, a new general election was conducted on the 22nd April 2009 and with a new Government inaugurated on 9th  May 2009 under the leadership of Mr. Jacob Zuma we await to  be deployed into our new respective department. See below  web link for more stories on the elections   http://edition.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/africa/04/24/south.africa.elections.results/index.html  After due deliberation with my children, I decided to  contact you for your assistance in standing as beneficiary  to the sum of US$30.5million (Thirty Million, Five Hundred  United States Dollars) equivalent.

 THE PROPOSAL .

I was the president's director of financial protocol  for over eight years and some of my duties entail disbursing  funds for his entertainment, over sea trips, health care and  any other domestic care he might require. This allocation  comes from the ministry of finance for on a quarterly basis. However I have received the allocation for the last quarter  of this year which was never used as we were asked to leave  office and I have starched this money in a private account  .

Hence I am soliciting you assistance in opening an  account with bankers through my banker so that this fund  could be wired into your account directly without any hitch. As soon as the fund gets to your account, you are expected  to move it immediately into another personal account in your  country.

I will see to it that the account is not traced from  South Africa. As soon as you have confirmed the fund in your  account, I will send my eldest son with my Attorney to come  to your country to discuss business investments .For your  assistance I am offering you 20% of the principal sum which  amounts to US$6,100.000.00(Six Million One Hundred Thousand  Dollars Only). However, You have to assure me and also be  ready to go into agreement with me that you will not elope  with my fund .If you agree to my terms kindly as a matter of urgency send me an email. Due to my sensitive position in  the past Government and in the society I advise all  correspondence to be through my private email address (frabongi@gmail.com)

If you wish to speak with my banker that is fine and okay by me, You have to send down your private telephone  /fax number so that I can forward it to him to reach you  from time to time .Please I do not need to remind you of the  need for absolute confidentiality if this transaction must  succeed .If you do not feel comfortable with this  transaction, do not hesitate to discontinue .

Thanks for your anticipated co-operation and my sincere regards to your family.

 Mr. Frank Bongani
