"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: RE: CONFIRM YOUR ADDRESS TO R. M. W COURIER!!!

Attention: Beneficiary,,

Today I received a call from the Director of the R. M. Wanlida Courier Company. The director stated that the consignment box that was sent to you was returned to them due to the fact that the package was delivered to the wrong address. This consignment boxcontained $2,500.000 in US currency, which is your over due contract/inheritance fund that we sent to you after we approved it in your name. Please call the Director, Mr. Jeffrey Walter, at (+233) 543 573287, or email him at rmwanlidacourierc@freemail.hu and provide him with the information that is listed below:

1. Full Name:..............
2. Phone And Fax Number::............
3. Address Where You Want Them To Re-Send The Package To (A P.O Box Is Not Acceptable):...........

In the Subject line of your return email, enter the code SCTC/2010RMW/567/0233, which will be the code used to identify you with.

Please Note: The Courier Company has no knowledge of what the contents of the package are that is being sent to you. I registered it as a BOX of African cloths. They have no knowledge of the fact that the box contains your $2,5000.000, so therefore PLEASE do not let them know that the box contains money. You do not want to give them any reason to look into the box or to have the box delayed for any reason.

I would like to close this letter by saying thank you, and may God bless your family and you.

With Warm Regards,

James Gray
