"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

With Due Honour and Respect my Dear Good Friend.

I am contacting you based on trust and wish that you will give me Back the trust I have given to you. I am not looking for anything else but, for someone with the fear of God, to keep this Confidential and secret in your life and to introduce myself to you for a better relationship with you. My name is Edem Kodjo, I am 71yrs a former senior member of Eyadema's RPT. I left the party to form the Togolese Union for Democracy in 1991. I am a respected politician and diplomat; I served as finance minister and foreign minister before becoming Secretary General of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) from 1978 to 1982.

Returning to LomeTogo, I founded my own political party, but remained on good terms with Eyadema who appointed me prime minister from 1992 to 1996. I served as prime minister in the government of late President Gnassingbe Eyadema between 1994 and 1996 - a period during which he is credited with reviving the tiny West African nation's economy and helping resettle returning refugees.

I am a candidate of the Pan-African Patriotic Convergence, a merger of four opposition parties. This is a little introduction of me. My office monitors and controls the affairs of financial matters from Presidency here, for any Local and foreign payments.
I am the final signatory to all Payment within the Presidency local and international levels in line to foreign contracts settlement.
I have before me the list of foreign contract payment files, which are due to be transferred to their nominated accounts. Meanwhile, I identified some of these accounts to be ghost accounts, unclaimed deposits and over-invoiced sum etc. I wish to have a deal with you as regards to the unpaid fund; I have a file before me and hope the data are correct and un-tampered.

As it is my duty to recommend the transfer of these surplus funds to the {Togo} Government Treasury Reserve Accounts in {Switzerland} as unclaimed deposits. I have the opportunity to write you based on the instructions I received two days ago from the Senate Committee on Contract Payments / Foreign Debts to submit the List of payment reports expenditures and audited reports of revenues.

Among several others, I have decided to remit the total sum of Twenty Six Million Euro (€26.000.000. Euros) following the idea that we have a deal/agreement and I am going to perfect the paperwork legally as the Fund has shifted to {A Switzerland Bank}, therefore this is deal/agreement of business that we are about to do all based on trust.

MY CONDITIONS

1. You will have to provide foreign account where these funds will be transferred.
2. This deal must be kept within you forever, and all correspondence will be strictly by private email
3. There should be no other third parties as most problems associated with such payments are caused by their agents or representatives.

If you AGREE with my conditions, l will advise you on the next line of action and immediate transfer of this fund will commence without further delay as I would proceed to fix your name on the Payment schedule.

Thanks, I await the receipt of your message to enable me bring you into the complete picture of the transaction.
Edem Kodjo, (Minister).
