"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: My donation for charitable work

Dear Friend,

I am Mrs. Florence Kante from Cote d'Ivoire. I am married to Mr.Oulai  Kante who was a minister in the first republic of Cote D'Ivoire in early 80s, before his untimely death in the year 2004 after few days in the hospital as a result of food poisoning. We were married for so many years without a child. As you know that it is only God that gives children, we were both born again Christian, Since his death, life has not been easy for me as his surviving brothers has engaged in threatening me to quit from the family. They are doing all this because i have no child with my late husband. Secondly, i am a christian while they are all Muslims.

Recently, i was diagnosed of breast cancer and my doctor told me that my life is too short because of the discease. Having confirmed that after undergoing medical tests in some other hospitals, I decided to donate the sum £1,700,000 which i inherited from my late husband "Mr. Olai Bi Tra Kante" He deposited the money with a bank called ECOBANK
which is situated at the heart of Abidjan here. I am donating the fund to be used for care of the orphanage children in orphanage homes, drug addicts in rehabilitation centers. And also for the less privilaged people in our society.

l took this decision because I don't have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians. It is widely known here that they are responsible for the death of my husband in other to have all my late husband's properties. But I don't want my husband's efforts to be used by those that conspired for his death. I don't want them to know about this development and l know that With God all things are possible, that is why I am took this decision.

Though, it was very painful to hear this kind of news from my doctor but I am not afraid of death because I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the bank and all the
relevant information about the money I will also issue a letter of authorization to the bank that will prove you the present beneficiary of this money. I also want you to always pray for me because the lord is my shepherd. My happiness is that the lord will not despise a
broken heart and a contrite spirit.

Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I stated herein.

l remain your sister,

Mrs. Florence Kante.
