"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I am sorry for this unsolicited approach and regret the inconveniences it might cause you. My name is William Coleman Eze, operational director of a Safe Deposit unit of the central bank of Nigeria{CBN}. It is my privilege to introduce you to a business deal that is purely verifiable and totally risk free. The business deal is about a contractor from Haiti with the Nigeria national petroleum cooperation (NNPC) who completed his contract of $32.730m, Unfortunately this contractor perished in the rubbles of the January 12th 2010 Haiti earthquake leaving no traces of next-of-kin or close relatives assign to the contract as presently this payment has been approved by the presidency and this morning on the payment gazette the concern payment was short listed among those that will be paid through our settling bank in London.

In conformity to the constitution of the CBN, efforts made to trace any of his relatives or a possible HEIR has continued to prove abortive.
