"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello

Dear,=20
I am Attorney Li Jian Wan, I have a client who died intestate and who=
is likely from the same ancestral lineage with you. Prior to the de=
ath of my Client, he secured a contract of 28 million USD from the Ki=
ngdom of Bahrain and the contract was successfully executed but the b=
alance of 15,800,000 USD was subsequently paid into my client=92s acc=
ount within the time of his sudden demise and this amount is lying un=
claimed.=20
Being the personal attorney to my late client I was mandated to provi=
de the appointed kin or risk losing the money to the government, I ha=
ve made several effort to contact any member of my client immediate f=
amily but to no avail, so I decided to look for someone from the same=
ancestral lineage with my client to present as the possible kin and =
this is the reason I am contacting you to assist in distributing this=
money since the possibility of you being related to my client can be=
established. Thank you and get back to me as soon as possible.=20
