"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: PLEA FOR THE CHAMANGA FAMILY

From: Mr. David Chamanga Email: plea4chamanga@gmail.com Dear Sir/Madam, STRICTLY PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL. You may be surprised to receive this letter from me; I am Mr. David Chamanga, the first son of Mr. Dennis Chamanga, a farmer and leader movement for democratic change (MDC) in Zimbabwe who was murdered in the land dispute in Zimbabwe. Before the death of my father, he had taken me to Johannesburg to deposit the sum of USD$12 Million (Twelve Million United State Dollars), in a Security Company, as if he fore saw the looming danger in Zimbabwe. This amount was meant for the purchase of new machines and chemicals for the farms and the establishment of the new farms in Swaziland. In fact, a lot of people have been killed because of this land reformed Act for which my father was one of the victims. I am an asylum seeker here in South Africa and the law of South Africa prohibits a refugee (asylum seeker) to do any legal fund transfer. Which ever the option you want, feel free to notify me as I will go into negotiation on percentage sharing first before we proceed. Please contact me with the above email for better explanation, and keep this transaction secrecy for my own security. Please confirm your interest by contacting me or forward your private telephone number so that I can call you for mutual understanding. I wait for your response. Sincerely yours, Mr. David Chamanga FOR THE FAMILY Email: plea4chamanga@gmail.com
