"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Sir,

Your long completed contract of $25,000,000.00 has been approved for a part payment of $10,000,000.00 by the Senate on the 20th of october, 2010.

We regret any inconvenience the delay must have had in your life, It was because of the bad governance of our past government. But with our gross review on all unpaid foreign contracts, we found that yours was supposed
to have been paid and yet was not paid.
Sequel to this, your balance will be paid by the first quarter of next year 2011.

To this effect you are required to forward the following immediately:
1. YOUR BANKING DETAILS
2. YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME / COMPANY DETAILS.
3. HOME / COMPANY ADDRESS
4. COMPANY OR HOME TELEPHONE AND FAX NUMBER.
The above will allow us to prepare your payment voucher that will be forwarded to our apex bank for your immediate credit.
