"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

An email address listed inside this email has been used in a known fraud before.
This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.

This email lists free webmail addresses. Use of such addresses is typical for scams. Lotteries, banks and any but the smallest of companies do not normally use such addresses. Criminals use them to anonymously send and receive email at Internet cafes.

Hello,

Kindly allow me the privilege of introducing myself to you, my name is Dr.Desmond Owen, 49yrs old naturalized UK citizen, I am originally from Bolivia.

I do have a proposal which I would pray you to consider, I had before now been employed with Pfizer UK, this Company supplies a natural herb {Tagrri Seeds} to Sterling Bioscience Pharmaceutical Organization; it is used for their research programmed in the search for cure for diseases.

Now Pfizer UK procures this herb from India at the rate of 4,100 Indian rupees and supply to Sterling Bioscience at the rate of £195, I have informed Sterling Bioscience Pharmaceutical Ltd UK that I will supply at the rate of £180 and the Director has agreed on this and has asked me to supply 500 - 1000 sachets.
I need someone that I can do the business with. I need a partner, I can present to the company as the dealer of the product in India.

My intention is, for you to get the product from the dealers then re-sell to Sterling Bioscience Pharmaceutical Ltd UK at the agreed price as stated above, thereafter the profit would be shared between you and me. I am unable to
travel for now after a bad vehicle accident which has put me out of work for about 8 months, I have no intentions on losing out in profit as I need it to pay up my medical bills.

With this I am hoping that you can assist me in supplying the Company this product, I do not want Sterling Bioscience Pharmaceutical to have the contact of the dealer in India as this transaction would be a continuous one, I would want to know if you would be willing and able to handle this transaction.
