"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Sir

This to inform you that the senate committee on foreign contract payment has meet resolute that payment on category .A. in this dispensation must be made before the end of the fiscal year 2011 payment.

Based on the difficulties imposed on beneficiaries, by bank officials and federal ministries, on foreign payment the committee has set up a diplomatic payment system where by your fund will be carried to your door step in a consignment, which will cost you almost nothing to receive your payment.

You are therefore required to reconfirm your current address where you may wish the diplomats to deliver your fund. Your telephone numbers for further communications with the diplomats. Copy of your identification, such as international passport or driver’s license. Upon receipt of the above requested information’s the diplomats will contact you with their traveling armament to meet with you in your country, or where you may wish. This is an urgent message, you are expected to expedite action immediately.
