"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Greetings my beloved

Greetings my beloved,

I am Mrs.Halima El-Badri, a late Libyan oil veteran's Wife, but I stayed and watched him worked in the oil industry for over 27years of my life. He was an oil explorer in Kuwait and Angola for twelve years before he died in the year 2000.

Recently, I discovered some documents confirming that my late husband deposited the sum of $14.2Million USD in a bank in Ghana (name withheld for personal reasons). I need an honest and trust worthy individual that will utilize this money in respect to my instruction/wish. I want the funds to be used in funding religious organizations and orphanages Currently I am residing in the United Kingdom where I have been battling with both Cancer and fibroid problems. My doctor told me that I would not last long due to the cancer issue. Having known my condition I have decided to donate the fund to better the lives of the less privileged.

I have a four years old adopted son, whom I wish you take up responsibility of his upbringing until he is old enough to cater for himself. Furthermore, I took this decision because I don’t have any child from my late husband that will inherit this money, and his relatives are very unkind to me and I don’t want my husbands hard earned money to be misused.

If I receive your reply, I shall direct you to my Attorney in UK . He will also issue you a letter of authority that will empower you as the bona fide beneficiary of this fund. On the contrary, if I do not receive your reply, I will assume your declination and adequately resume search for the right individual.

If you are not interested, I plead you pardon me for contacting you.

Best regards,

Halima El-Badri.
