"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend,

Compliments of the day, I am Barrister Wale Scott, the attorney to Late Engr Mark, a National of your country, a business man and an investor who died with his entire family in an automobile crash, and left behind his deposit valued at $7.5 Million United States Dollars Only.

Since then I have made several inquiries to locate any of late Engr. Mark's extended relatives this has proved unsuccessful. I seek your consent to present you as the next of kin to the deceased since you bear the same last name so that the proceeds of this account valued at US$7,500,000.00 (Seven Million Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars Only) can be paid to you as his next of

kin and then you and i can share the money. The request of you being a foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that My client was a foreigner and i cannot stand as a next of kin to a foreigner.

I will tell you final details of this transaction when I receive confirmation of your desire to participate. Be assured that I am completely committed to the situation. There will be no risk involved whatsoever if you agree to co-operate.

However maximum privacy is of vital importance if we are to successfully reap the immense benefits of this transaction. I guarantee that the transaction will be executed under legitimate arrangement that will protect all parties involved from any breach of law.

To confirm your willingness and co-operation to my proposal you are to state the following:

(1) Full Name

(2) Direct Telephone Number

Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Barrister Wale Scott.
