"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Iam the manager of bill and exchange at the foreign remittanceDepartment of  ECO-BANK OF AFRICA, here in Ouagadougou , Burkina Faso.In my department we discovered an abandoned sum of US$25.8Milliondollars in an account that belongs to one of our foreignCustomer (MR.PAUL LOUIS from Paris , France ) who died along with Hisentire familyin July 2003in a plane crash. 

Since we got information abouthis death wehavebeen expecting his Next of kin to come over and claimhis money becausewe cannot release it Unless some body applies for itas next ofkin orrelation to the Deceased as indicated in our bankingguidelinesand lawsbut unfortunately we learnt that all his supposednext of kinor relationdied alongside with him at the plane crashleaving nobodybehind for theclaim. 

It is therefore upon thisdiscovery that I now decided tomake thisbusiness proposal to you andrelease the money to you as thenext of kinor relation to the deceasedfor safety and subsequentdisbursement since nobody is coming for it and we don’t want this moneyto go into the bank treasury as unclaimed bill. 

The banking lawand guideline heresti pulates that if such money Remained Unclaimedafter nine years, the money will betransferred into the bank treasuryas unclaimed fund. There quest offoreigner as next of kin in thistransfer is unquestion ableby the fact that the customer was aForeigner and a Burkinabe cannotstand as next of kin to a foreigner. 

Iagree that 40% of this money will befor you as a respect to theProvision of a foreign account, and  60% would be for me There after, IWill visit your country for disbursement according to the percentage indicated There fore, to enable the immediate transfer of this fund toyou arranged, you must apply firstto the bank as relation or next ofkin of the deceasedindicating yourbank name, your bank account number,your Privatetelephone and fax number for easy and effectivecommunication Andlocation where in themoney will be remitted... Uponreceipt of your reply, I will send toyou by fax or email the text ofthe application. 

I will not fail to bring to your notice thistransaction is hitch-free and that you should not enter tain any atomof fear as all required Arrangements have been made for the transfer,please treat this business with utmost confidentiality and you shouldreply me immediately as soonas your eceive this letter.
