"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello

Good day,
My name is Mr.Joseph Anderson, I`m a high level staff at the Euro Million Lottery.
I have a very lucrative proposal for you; I can make you a winner of €15,000,000euro in one of the Euro million
lottery draws, if you are willing to share the proceeds with me 50-50. Just a brief, you just have to register
for the lottery draws online; with my position in the company I can make it happen and you will emerge the
winner of the above stated amount. You will not be required to pay before you can participate in the lottery as i`ll handle everything from the database. Do not take this offer for granted as its a once in a life time,
we both stand to collectively gain from this if you can assure me you can be trusted.
If you are interested, then reply to my private email: joseph20andy@yahoo.com.hk

Regards,
Mr.Joseph Anderson
