"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Beneficiary.

We have recently been informed through our Global intelligence monitoring network that we found your name in our list and that is why you are receiving this email notification. The Entire UN Bodies Involved in the Compensation office of United Nations are informing you, that if you have been involved in any payment Transaction or you are expecting payments from Africa or any part of the World, then communicate your next line of action to us with full contact details of your person for further directives.

Furthermore, we want to place this on your notice that in reference to the just concluded meeting, the UNCC in affiliation with President Barrack Obama Campaign have agreed to compensate you amongst others with categorical payment sum of $500,000.00 each. This meeting was first held on the 8th of April 2003 by the then secretary to the UN. You can view this page for your perusal (http://www.un.org/News/Press/docs/2003/ik344.doc.htm). Due to the corrupt and inefficient banking systems, payments are to be PAID strictly through Barclays Bank Plc under funding assistance by the UNITED NATIONS/WORLD BANK.

In its decision of 24th March 2006, the Governing Council established basic principles for the distribution of compensation payments to successful claimants. Accordingly, the first phase of payment involved an initial payment of US$500,000.00 to each successful individual claimant in categories "A" and "C". However, for humanitarian reasons, all category "B" claims will be paid in full of a total USD$700,000.00. A total of US$863,725,490.00 was made available to successful individual claimants in categories "A", "B" and "C" under the first phase of payments. Claimants includes every foreign contractor that may have not received their contract sum, and people that have had an unfinished transaction or international businesses that failed due to Government problems etc.

We at the United Nations commend the Governments for pursuing the path of compromise, a cornerstone of effective multilateral ism. In so doing, they have proven that the United Nations can deliver results even on the most challenging global financial issues of the day. You will receive your compensations payments via 2 different installments wire transfers.
Provide us with your complete contact and Bank details in your return email. I shall feed you with further details, once I hear from you.

Yours faithfully,

BAN KI-MOON.
United Nations, Secretary-General.
