"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Re: my request

Hello,
I write you this proposal in good faith, believing I can trust you with
the information I am revealing to you. I am Mr. Bruce Reeder presently
working in Iraq with an international organization. I found your contact
particulars in your country address journal. I have a very good business
which I want you and me to handle.
I need your assistance to evacuate the sum of Five Million, Six
Hundred And Thirty Five Thousand US Dollars from Iraq to your country, if
you can assure me the money will be safe in your care until I complete my
service here in Iraq and meet you at your location.
However before we proceed, I need to know you, reach agreement of
understanding and build trust with you. I don't need someone who will
cheat me or run away after receiving the fund. Therefore I need your full
names, company's name/address and phone number. When I received these
details from you I shall let you know the next step so we can proceed as
trusted partners. It is not a risky business and you will not incur any lost.
Regards,
Bruce.
