"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

My name is Ibrahim Dabidu, the treasury manager of Ocaso Global Security & Diplomatic Company Malaysia; I am writing in regards to your Trunk Box Money that was deposited in this Company by one James Graham, a diplomatic Official, on the 16 day of April 2011; The Trunk box where deposited as family belongings, but after scanning yesterday, i found out that the real contents of the Trunk box  is us$9. 3 Million Dollars cash, and all in 100$ dollars bill.   in view of this, you are advice not to disclose the real contents to our Company for security purposes and for them not to charge you for money laundry.
 
I am constrained to notify you that you are required to re-confirm/send to us a valid copy of your identification i.e. copy of your international passport or drivers licence or any of your valid ID CARD, Your Full name, Direct Home/Cell Phone number, Country Name and address, to enable our verification department to carryout validation exercise.
