"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: URGENT ASSISTANCE NEEDED

Hello,

I hope my email finds you well.

My name is Emma Howarth, I am from London UK. The company I worked
with before was a distributor of Cooking Oil to a United Kingdom
company before I quit the company for a different company. The client
who normally purchase cooking oil from my previous company called me
for more supply of Cooking Oil. So I am looking for trustworthy and
honest partnership for this long term business transaction.

I have bought the cooking oil before in Malaysia at the rate of $550
American dollars per metric ton of which I sold to my client at the
rate of $980 American dollar per metric ton. My client himself
supplies to fast-food shops and restaurants here in London.

But this time I will not be able to fly over to Malaysia for the
conclusion of the business, because of my position now at the new
company where I work presently, since you are near to Asia(Malaysia),
I was wondering if you are interested to take up this opportunity, I
can give you the contact of the supplier in Malaysia and connect you
with the client who is in need of this cooking oil, so you and I can
share the profit margin on it as my client is ready to fly over to
Malaysia for the oil at any moment and he's ready to purchase 100
metric tons (one hundred metric tons).

I don't want to introduce the seller over there in Malaysia to my
client directly because of the profit margin. Kindly get back to me
for more details if you are interested.

Best Regards
Ms Emma Howarth.
