"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

This is to inform you that the federal government of Nigeria have set up a new commission that will pay all the contractors they are indebted to for the past years with all their accumulated interest of which you fall within the category.
The former committee handling the payment under the leadership of Dr. Rowland was suspended and has been dissolved due to some financial misappropriations and their inability to meet up with the dateline.

The new commission under the leadership of Mr. Silvester Ayodele as head of Contract Payment Commission under the office of the Accountant general of the federation has been mandated to process and pay those contractors that their payment have been long over due.
So to this effect, we kindly request you to confirm and send us your bank account information for verification and onward remittance of your contract fund which presently stood at USD$19,895,635.50.

We have to let you know that we regret the inconveniences this delay may have caused to you as we hope to work seriously to ensure that you gets your payment ASAP.

Note: The above reference number should be quoted in all your correspondences with us and should be highly confidential.
Once again we thank you in advance for your patience while we wait to receiving your bank information to enable us effect your payment.

Faithfully yours,

Mr Silvester Ayodele.
