"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

An email address listed inside this email has been used in a known fraud before.
This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. This email lists free webmail addresses. Use of such addresses is typical for scams. Lotteries, banks and any but the smallest of companies do not normally use such addresses. Criminals use them to anonymously send and receive email at Internet cafes.

I am Mrs. Michelle Sutherest; I am a US citizen, 58 years Old. I reside here in Albany Georgia . My Residential Address is as follows. 108 Crockett Court. Apt 303, Albany Georgia , United States. I am one of those that my email won a lottery in Benin years ago and they refused to pay me, I had paid over $20,000 trying to get my payment all to no avail.

So I decided to travel down to Benin with all my personal documents, and I was directed to meet the Attorney in charge of lottery and beneficiary funds, Barrister Macurly Evans, who is the member of the NNPC LOTTERY WINNER AWARD COMMITTEE, and I contacted him and he explained everything to me. He said that those people that are contacting us through emails are fake imposters and wants to rip us off. Then he took me to the paying bank, which is INLAND BANK OF Benin PLC (IBP), and I am the happiest woman on this Earth because I have received my NNPC LOTTERY WINNERS funds of $850.000.00.(Eight hundred and fifty thousand United States Dollars) Moreover, Barrister Macurly Evans, showed me the full information of those that have not received Their payment and I saw your name and your email address as one of the beneficiary on the NNPC LOTTERY AWARD CERTIFICATE I, that's why I decided to Email you and tell you to stop dealing with those Imposters, they are not with your fund.

I will advice you to contact the attorney in charge of funds issued to beneficiaries, Barrister Macurly Evans now so as for him to assist you to get your fund transfer into your bank account. You have to contact him direct on this information below.

You really have to stop dealing with those scam impostors and fraudsters that are contacting you via email and telephone informing you of your funds with them while your fund is not with them, they are only taking Advantage of you and they will rip you up until you have nothing left to eat. Once again stop contacting those people, contact Barrister Macurly Evans so that he can help you to finalize the transfer of your Fund, instead of dealing with those Impostors that will be turning you around asking for different kind of Money to complete your transfer.
