"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Urgent Assistance

Sir/Madam
I am an investor/financial adviser to an ex-minister in the government of the former
Ivorien president, Laurent Gbagbo. I am sure that you are aware that the regime of
Laurent Gbagbo fell apart in April, 2011. That incident has necessitated the need to
reinvest my client’s wealth to prevent the new government from seizing them. And so,
I solicit your assistance to reinvest these funds in your country as you would suggest.
Since the present government is aware of my financial association with the minister, my
direct involvement may hamper the success of this transaction. Hence, I have briefed a
financial Attorney in Madrid Spain, with the details of the funds, which is in excess
of US$18.5 million. Consequently, your role would be to liaise with him for the smooth
transfer of the money to your country.
While I count on your honesty your fees and the expenses that you may encurre and all
tax liabilities will be refunded to you. Meanwhile, feel free to send your response to
me at my personal email address doudaadama@gmail.com

Regards.

Dr.Daouda Eric Adama
