"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.
This email message is a "dying widow" scam.

dearest Friend

I am Mrs Susan Nana a wife of Late Mr.Vicente Nana of Ghana , we married for 30 years without a child , my husband died 2001 in auto crash , my husband have a deposit Funds in a Security in London UK ,because he was a contractor when he was alive, I decided to donate this fund to either you, an organization , charity homes (motherless homes), or devoted individual that will utilize this money in the way I will. Recently my doctor told me that I have only six months to live in this world due to cancer problem and stroke. Though what disturbs me most is my stroke sickness.

Although, I took this decision because I don't have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are into radical organization and they do not wish me well, that is the reasons i took this bold decision.
Please, pray for me to recover as your prayers will go along way in uplifting my spirit. I don't need any telephone communication in this regard, because of my condition and my doctor has advised me not to speak on phone because of my health for now .i am currently leaving in Ghana for my treatment.
