"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Best wishes to you

Dear Friend,

I am contacting you to propose a deal that will be of high benefit to both of
us. I am Mr. Franklin Jefferson. I am the personal assistant and financial
adviser to late Mr. Sayed Mohammad , of Libyan/American origin who was a
Category "A" contractor to the Ghanaian Government before he died in a car
crash along Spintex road Accra, Ghana on the night of February 14th, 2011 when
he was coming back from the beach.

The sum of US$6.5Million (Six Million Five Hundred Thousand United States
Dollars) for the last contract (Supply of multiple lap tops, desktop computers,
software, hardware, installations and general maintenance) my late boss did for
four ministries of the Ghanaian Government in 2010 has been approved and is
ready for payment since but there is no one to receive the payment on his
behalf because he has no Next-of-Kin details in his contract payment file when
he signed contract agreement and memorandum of understanding with the Ghanaian
Government. As his known personal assistant/financial adviser, I have been
mandated by the Finance Ministry of Ghana to locate any of his relation to act
as an ?appointed Next-of-Kin? for the claim of the money.

I worked as his personal aid for more than 3years so I myself already knew for
long that my late boss has no family because he was a gay(Pardon me for using
the word GAY but I am just saying the truth) until he died. On this capacity,
therefore, I seek your consent to present you as an appointed "Next-of-Kin"
/business colleague so that this contract payment will be released and paid to
you face to face here in Ghana or by direct bank to bank transfer to your
nominated bank account.

After some period of time, If no one comes to claim the money, the Ghanaian
Government will confiscate the money and return it back to the Government
treasury and I do not want this to happen, hence the reason why I am contacting
your for a great assistance. Once the payment is made to you, I will meet with
you in your country for us share it the money the ratio of 40:40:20. That is,
40%. for me as the initiator of the deal, 40% for you as my partner then the
remaining 20% will be given to any charity organization, mosques and less
privileged people in your country. Please understand that we are not doing wrong
to humanity by claiming the payment because if we do not claim it, the Ghanaian
Government will keep it for themselves and then my master's suffering will be
in vain. I want to assure you that this will be done under a legitimate
arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law because there will
be proper documentation to protect you. I will be happy if you can come to
Ghana in person to meet with me so that we can work together and resolve this
issue; I can assist you to process a cable visa very fast if you really wish to
come.

If you are capable of been trusted and interested in this offer, kindly
indicate by sending the following details to me for immediate submission of
claim application to the Ghanaian Government. The details I need from you are:
(1) Your full names and address. (2) Your age & occupation. (3) Your private
telephone and fax numbers. Remember, your name, and country does not matter,
since you are a foreigner, all I need to do is to present you as an appointed
Next-of-Kin/business colleague to my late boss and the Ghanaian Government will
release the fund to you and with proper documentation to back it up, it will be
easy for you to claim the funds without problem.

Best wishes to you and your family,

Mr. Franklin Jefferson.
