"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: From (Sfc. 1st Class) Roy Jones

Hello Friend,
How are you and the members of your family, with hope you all are in good health? I wish to bring this confidential preposition to you as I am being helpless at the moment. My name is (Sfc. 1st Class Roy Jones), I am an American Soldier serving in the military with the army's 3rd infantry division in Iraq, but we have been deployed out of Iraq, some were deployed back to the states at the end of last year and some were deployed to Kuwait at our military base. I am in a desperate need for your assistance and I have courageously made up my mind to contact you with your contact address I got from my personal search.

I am seeking your kind assistance to help me clear my trunk box which was deposited with a security company in United States. The content of the trunk box is the total sum of ($16.5 Million U.S. DOLLARS) sixteen million five hundred thousand United State dollars. Let me use this medium to explain the source of this huge fund; Some money in various currencies were discovered in barrels at a farmhouse near one of Saddam old palaces in Tikrit-Iraq during a rescue operation, the money was firstly found by I and Staff Spc. Daniel Collier and we both agreed to share the money between ourselves before informing our colleagues since we were the first persons that found it, the two of us shared $13 million US Dollars between ourselves and which my own share was $6.5 million and then share the rest of the money between other of our colleagues and I got $10 million from that share, plus the $6.5 million which all totals $16.5 million Us Dollars as my own share.

Luckily for me, I was able to get the help of a British contact working here, and his office enjoy some immunity, I was able to move the trunk box containing the funds to United State entirely out of trouble spot with the help of prudent Red Cross Officer who traveled to Washington DC for an official meeting for a war report. The Red Cross Officer does not know the real contents of the package.

I intended to claim the trunk box containing the funds by myself, when I return back to the states, but I was unlucky not to be among the soldiers that were deployed back home from Iraq at the end of last year, I happen to be among the soldiers that was deployed to Kuwait at our Military base their. Please I need your help, though this was quite an illegal thing to do, but I tell you what? No compensation can make up for the risk we have taken with our lives in this hell hole, of which my brother in-law was killed by a road side bomb last time.

I am willing to offer you a reasonable amount as your own share on this deal, but if should in any case you do not wish to assist me on this project, please delete this message immediately as any leakage of it will put some of the soldiers in trouble.

I would appreciate your kindness on this project and as soon as I get a positive response back from you, then I can now furnish you with further details. You may contact me through my private email which is my way of communication(sfc.royjones092@rocketmail.com).

Hoping to get a response from you soon.

Yours Sincerely,
Sfc. Roy Jones
(3rd Infantry Division)
