"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dearest One,

My name is Barrister Francis Damijo, a solicitor at law, Late Mr. Abendroth A. personal attorney. Mr. Abendroth used
to work in Lome Togo as a contractor. Here in after shall be referred to as my client. On the 30th of April 2010, my
client, and their only daughter were involved in a fatal accident along Nouvissi express Road. All occupants of the
incident unfortunately lost their lives.

I have made several enquiries in other to locate any of Mr. Abentroth's relatives, this has also proven unsuccessful. I
have contacted you to request for your cooperation in getting the fund worth USD$9.7 million left by Mr. Abendroth
before it gets condemned by the bank. The Bank has published an announcement for the provision of a next of kin
or have his account closed with 21 business days.

Since I have not been able to successfully locate the relatives for over 19 months, I offer you the proposal of
standing as the next of kin for Mr. abendroth since you both share the same surname.

All I require from you is your sincere co-operation to enable us accomplish this goal. I guarantee that this will be
implemented under genuine arrangement that will assure your protection and be free from violation of any law.
