"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

This is a personal email directed to you and I request that it be treated as such. I am Barrister Tony Wilson, a Solicitor at Law. I wish to notify you that my Law Chambers have listed and picked you as a beneficiary to the total sum of $5,600,000.00 (Five Million Six Hundred Thousand Dollars) in the Intent of a Deceased “Client” (Names withheld since I haven't confirmed your availability and interest on this deal). It took me about 6 months intensive search through your country peoples data directory on Internet to found your names and location as suitable and perfect match to present as next of kin to my late client who share the same surnames and country with you. I contacted you on this transaction because you bear the same surname with my late client and I may by your consent; present you to the "trustee" bank as my late client's surviving family member so as to enable you put up a claim to the bank as a next of kin of my late client.
