"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Approval of Payment

Office of the Chairman,
Senate Committee on - Payment Review,
Senate House
Abuja - Nigeria

RE: APPROVAL PAYMENT ON OUTSTANDING FUND.

Due to incessant complaints by foreign beneficiaries on their overdue outstanding payment, The Office of the Presidency has set up the above committee to offset all outstanding and overdue payment during the 2012 second quarter payment allocation. To this regard, a total sum of US$2.4 Billion has been mapped out to offset this backlog of payment arrears.

Following the extensive investigations, findings and counter-confirmations, your file has been given final approval for immediate payment.

It was also confirmed that former officials assigned to carry out the payments deliberately established (self made) loop holes to enable them extort money from foreign beneficiaries which led to frustration and subsequent abandoning of funds.

To facilitate this payment exercise, only two (2) modes of payments were approved:

1.) CASH PAYMENT:

i.) In this mode of payment, the beneficiary will be expected to personally be at the payment centre for personal identification.
ii.) The beneficiary will open an account in any bank of his choice at the country of payment.
iii.) Payment will be made at the bank directly to the beneficiary's bank account.
iv.) Beneficiary will have immediate access to his fund.

2.) AUTOMATED TELLER MACHINE (ATM):

a.) This mode of payment is carried out jointly with the paying bank and VISA WORLDWIDE.
b.) The total fund value will be credited (loaded) in PLATINUM VISA CREDIT CARD.
c.) The card will be shipped to the beneficiary's address.
d.) The beneficiary will have access to carry out cash withdrawal of maximum of US$5,000 (Five thousand, US Dollars) within 24 hours.
e.) The beneficiary will also have access to carry out online transaction of maximum of US$250,000 (Two hundred and fifty thousand US Dollars only) within every 24 hours.

Your chosen mode of payment will determine the payment centre you will be assigned and advised to contact. Further payment details will be given to you by your assigned payment centre/director.

Due to limited funds mapped out for this payment exercise which has been divided into batches and considering the large number of beneficiaries lined up for payment, be informed that this committee is mandated to carry out the payment in strict accordance on first come first served basis.
You are to provide the following details for verification; Full name(s), Address, Direct telephone Number, Gender and Occupation.

We anticipate your prompt response.

senator Isiaka Haliru Bello.
Chairman
Senate Committee on - Payment Review.
