"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dearest One,

My name is David Philip and my Sister's name Gloria we are the children of Late General Philip Taboh the former Director of militaryinteligenceand special acting General Manager of Sieria Leone Diamondminingcoperation( SLDMC ). I am contacting you to seek your goodassistanceto transfer and invest USD 16 million belonging to my latefather whichis deposited in a bank in Abidjan. This money is revenuesfrom solidminirals and dimonds sale which were under my fatherspossession beforethe civil war broke out. Following the break out ofthe war, almost allgovernment offices, coperations and parastatals wereattacked andvandalized.

The SLDMC was loothed and burnt down toashes, anddiamonds worth millions of dollars was stolen by the rebelmilitaryforces who attacked my fathers office. Many top governmentofficialsand senior army officers

wereassasinated and my father was akey target because of his very sensitivemilitary possition andappointment in the SLDMC.Regreatably, my fatherwas captured andmurdered along with half brother in cool blood during amid-night rebelshoot-out when our official residence in freetown wasarmbushed byFordey Sanko the notorious rebel leader. My mothersustainded verysever bullet injuries which resulted to her untimely andpainful deathin a private hospital here in Ivory Coast.

Now weare alone in atotally strange country without parents, relatives or anybody to carefor us at our tender ages. Before our mother died, she toldus that ourfather deposited some money which he made from diamond salesanddeposited it in a bank here in Ivory Coast and that we should prayandfind a trust worthy foreign business partner who will help ustotransfer and invest this money in profitable business ventureoverseas.

Shetoldus to do this quickly so that we can leave Ivory Coast with ourcousinbrother-Arthur who is here in the camp with us and, then settledownabroad. She gave us the bank document to prove the deposit andthen toldus that my father used my name as the only son to deposit themoney inthe bank. She told us that this is the reason why we came toIvoryCoast. My mother died after wards. May her spirit rest in perfectpeace.

Ihave gone to the bank to make inquires about this moneyand I spoke withthe Manager of International remittance who assured methat everythingis intact and promised to help me transfer this moneyto my foreignpartners bank account as soon as I provide my partnersforeign bankaccount for them. However, the manager is very concernedbecause of myage. I am 19 years old and as such advised that I shouldlook for amatured person that will represent me at the bank.

Ifyou are willing to assist us,please let us know immediately so thatyou will arrange the transfer ofthe money to your account with thebank. Please note that we will offeryou 25% of the total money ascompensation for your noble assistance inaccodiance with my mothersadvise. We are interested in any profitablecommercial venture whichyou consider very good in your country and youwould also get a schoolfor me and my little sister and cousin so thatwe can finish ourcollege education in your country.

Please thereis urgent needfor the money to be transferred to your account becauseof thepolitical crises they are having in Ivory Coast now. I am hopingtohear your urgent response so that I can not look for anotherforeignpartner.

Thank you and may God bless you and your dear family.
Yours sincerely

David Philip
