"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

From David And Gloria Philip.Avenu 12 Reu 47 ABIDJANDANANI REFUGEE CAMP, ABIDJANREPUBLIC OF COTE-D'IVOIRE
Dearest One,
Myname is David Philip and my Sister's name Gloria we are the children ofLate General Philip Taboh the former Director of military inteligenceand special acting General Manager of Sieria Leone Diamond miningcoperation( SLDMC ). I am contacting you to seek your good assistanceto transfer and invest USD 16 million belonging to my late father whichis deposited in a bank in Abidjan. This money is revenues from solidminirals and dimonds sale which were under my fathers possession beforethe civil war broke out. Following the break out of the war, almost allgovernment offices, coperations and parastatals were attacked andvandalized.
The SLDMC was loothed and burnt down to ashes, anddiamonds worth millions of dollars was stolen by the rebel militaryforces who attacked my fathers office. Many top government officialsand senior army officers
were assasinated and my father was akey target because of his very sensitive military possition andappointment in the SLDMC.Regreatably, my father was captured andmurdered along with half brother in cool blood during a mid-night rebelshoot-out when our official residence in freetown was armbushed byFordey Sanko the notorious rebel leader. My mother sustainded verysever bullet injuries which resulted to her untimely and painful deathin a private hospital here in Ivory Coast.
Now we are alone in atotally strange country without parents, relatives or any body to carefor us at our tender ages. Before our mother died, she told us that ourfather deposited some money which he made from diamond sales anddeposited it in a bank here in Ivory Coast and that we should pray andfind a trust worthy foreign business partner who will help us totransfer and invest this money in profitable business venture overseas.
Shetold us to do this quickly so that we can leave Ivory Coast with ourcousin brother-Arthur who is here in the camp with us and, then settledown abroad. She gave us the bank document to prove the deposit andthen told us that my father used my name as the only son to deposit themoney in the bank. She told us that this is the reason why we came toIvory Coast. My mother died after wards. May her spirit rest in perfectpeace.
I have gone to the bank to make inquires about this moneyand I spoke with the Manager of International remittance who assured methat everything is intact and promised to help me transfer this moneyto my foreign partners bank account as soon as I provide my partnersforeign bank account for them. However, the manager is very concernedbecause of my age. I am 19 years old and as such advised that I shouldlook for a matured person that will represent me at the bank.
Ifyou are willing to assist us, please let us know immediately so thatyou will arrange the transfer of the money to your account with thebank. Please note that we will offer you 25% of the total money ascompensation for your noble assistance in accodiance with my mothersadvise. We are interested in any profitable commercial venture whichyou consider very good in your country and you would also get a schoolfor me and my little sister and cousin so that we can finish ourcollege education in your country.
Please there is urgent needfor the money to be transferred to your account because of thepolitical crises they are having in Ivory Coast now. I am hoping tohear your urgent response so that I can not look for another foreignpartner.
Thank you and may God bless you and your dear family.Yours sincerely
David Philip.
