"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.

FOR YOUR KIND ATTENTION:

My name is Mohammed Burhan Yusuf, the son of late Muktar Burhan Yusuf from the Houla province of Syria.

My late father, Mr. Burhan Yusuf was a very wealthy merchant known within the government circle due to his political standing with the then government of president Bashar al-Assad father, but the relationship between my father and president Bashar al-Assad was strained on ideological differences shortly after he took over government.

At the wake of the insurgence in the country, my father was murdered in cold blood on the night of 12 September, 2011. My father's death was a huge blow on the family with an untold hardship to the family. My mother was less fortunate during our flee to neighbouring Turkey, when she was hit by a stray bullet at the Syrian-Turkish border in an effort to cross over to Turkey at the height of the unrest. I have been able to settle down with my two siblings in the remote border town of Turkey.

I decided to make this contact with you for a possible investment joint project in your country after my preliminary discussion with the Chief Financial Officer of prime Bank in the United Kingdom on my father fund deposit worth USD21.5m. On my meeting with the CFO of the bank in UK, I was duly informed that my late father deposited the above named fund under INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO ACCOUNT ACCOUNT - INVESTPORT/HLD790, which he (the CFO) explained is a special account under FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO HOLDING 790. He further explained to me that under this arrangements, that I as the direct HEIR - IN - TITLE to my late father can ONLY access this fund at the attainment of thirty (30) years during which I will have been old enough to go into the full administration of this fund in any viable investment.

At the age of 24 years, I still have over six years to be qualified to access and use this fund, I explained this to the CFO coupled with the fact that I had to complete my education and daily expenses for me and my two little ones. The Chief Financial officer, made me understand that the only clause that might favour me in this dispensation is where it said that the fund can be released to me through a seasoned fund manager/administrator that can handle and see to the direct running of the investment of this fund in any chosen country until I attain the take - over age.

I am therefore writing your to present you as the fund manager for this purpose as I had already informed the CFO that I have a very trusted hand that can do this for me. I want you to consider this proposal to be presented as my fund manager for the administration of this fund. I shall give you all the needed information of the account of the above fund with the UK Bank as to enable you communicate with the CFO who will advise you on how this fund can be transferred into your nominated bank account in your country for the investment purposes and well being of me and my younger ones.

I will be looking forward to your earliest response to this mail.

Thanks and regards.

Mohammed Burhan Yusuf
