"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.

Subject: Beloved in the Lord

Beloved in the Lord,

Calvary greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I'm Sra.Susy Johnson of Kuwait. I was married to Mr. Hector Johnson, who worked with Kuwait embassy in Ivory Coast for nine years before he died last year. We were married for eleven years without a child. My husband died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were both born again Christians.

My dear, I know you're surprised to receive this letter, but as a child of the living God, you should know that our way is not the way of the Lord. My Bible tells me that he works in many ways and all things work for good for those who believed in Christ Jesus. Actually, it was the leading of the Holy Spirit of God who chose you in obedi ence and love to fulfill the desire of my late husband who leaned to the glory of God. With God all things are possible. I want you to understand that this benevolence is in fulfillment of the desire and decisi on of my late husband I was persuaded to perform.

Since the death of my beloved husband, I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of U.S. $ 2.5 million (U.S. $ 2,500,000.00) in a bank here in Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire. Presently, this money is still in the bank.

Recently, my doctor told me I would not last for the period of nine months due to my cancer problem. What disturbs me most is my stroke sickness that was caused by hypertension. Having known my condition critical, decided to donate the fund to a charity organization, church, organiz Christian action, or a true believer that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct here.

I want this fund to be used to orphanages, schools, churches, widows, and people in less privileged propagating the word of God and to make sure that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that "Blessed is the hand that giveth". I took this decision because we do not have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are unbelievers and do not want my husband's hard earned money to be inherited by the unbelievers.

I do not want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way. That is why I am taking this decision. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I'm going. I know I'll be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that "the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace." I do not need any telephone communication in this. D ue to my health condition and the presence of my late husband's relatives around me always trying to claim this din heiro me that my husband left me I do not want them to know about this development. With God all things are possible.

I want you to handle it on your own since my health can not allow me as I was put on dialysis medical check-up periodically. So I am writing this letter with the help of a sister who use to help me. I want you to send me your full name and address so I can swear an affidavit on oath that will officially and legally approved you as my next of kin to this fund so that even if I'm dead its application to this fund in the bank is not in doubt. I'll be sending you the affidavit of oath and certificate of deposit of this fund immediately after the affidavit is ready.

As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the bank in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, where the money was deposited by my husband loved u. I will also issue a declaration swearing that legally and officially approve my family and new beneficiaries to the fund together with the certificate of deposit guarantee fund which my late husband received when he deposited the money in the bank. I want you to always pray for me for a miracle cure.

My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that wan ts to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and in truth. Please prayerful all through your life. Please, I do not need any delay, answer me as soon as possible, along with your full name and address, which will be used to process the statement on his behalf.

Hoping to receive your urgent response.
