"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: My Information About Your Esteem Self (Hon. Engr. Johannes Hendricks)

FROM: HON. (ENGR.) JOHANNES HENDRICKS.
Date: 26th OCT 2012.
Dear Sir,
It with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that I am writing this message to you about the sudden and untimely death of the president of the Republic of Ghana - His Excellency, Prof John Evans Atta Mills, who died on the 24th of July 2012 at the 37 Military Hospital, Accra Ghana.
Please consider this message as a request from a person in dares need of your assistance. I am Hon. Johannes HENDRICKS, a personal adviser and a very good friend to the late president before he died. I know that we have not met before, but please pardon me for making this initial contact through email. I want to know if you can be of help to me, as I wouldn’t want to be exposed to the Government of Ghana. There is a huge amount of money that the late president looted (swag) from his office to London UK when he was alive, because he planned to invest the funds into Oil business before he died.

This total sum US$36Million (Dollars) was converted to British pounds Sterling and these funds were deposited in London. Now the president (His Excellency, Prof John Evans Atta Mills) is late, I have decided to move this fund out for my private use, since all documentation is available with me. I still will give you details on how funds shall transfer to your account once you respond to this mail.

Please kindly contact me with the email address below, if you are interested to carry out this transaction with me. Reply with your telephone and mobile number. I will agree to give you 15% of the total funds for your assistance to receive above fund to your account.
Sincerely yours,
Hon. Johannes HENDRICKS.
