"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend, My name is Omar Bin Hussein, head of treasury department of an Asia Link and Finance security company here in Asia. I'm an account officer to a Syrian who died Last year due to injury sustained in the ongoing mayhem in Syria Arab republic. As a matter of fact, lying in his account is $6,960,000 united states dollars and every effort to reach anyone related to him has been abortive. Now, I want you to stand in as the beneficiary to his deposited fund which I shall guide you on the way we could successfully lay claims without hassles. In one accord, we can jointly secure the fund out and talk about investment, possibly in your country if you have idea of any lucrative business. I anticipate your earliest response before our management would make arrangements to confiscate the fund or credit it to government treasury. hussein.omarbin@yahoo.com.ph Yours faithfully Omar Bin Hussein.
