"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Dear Friend,

(Advocates and Solicitors)
135 Omolara Way, Victoria Island,
Lagos-Nigeria.

Dear Friend,

Kindly pardon me for this unexpected and unsolicited proposal which came as a result of urgency. I am Barrister Austin Donald, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN). I am the personal attorney to the Anyene's family who all perished in the ill-fated Dana Air Plane crash that claimed the lives of 153 passengers and crew members here in Lagos-Nigeria on Sunday 3rd of June 2012. "May their gentle souls rest in peace" Amen!!!

My late client and his entire family lived in Park Place Circle West Hartford, United States of America until their sudden and painful death. But before their death I have all their genuine and important secret documents in my custody. And my late client has a cash deposit of USD$15.2 million with a private security Vault in Accra Ghana.

Both the wife also died along with him and his entire family without a Next of Kin to inherit the fund. And as the personal and recognized attorney to the family and having all the documents to the fund, I have the absolute Legal Rights as demanded by the law to present any person to the vault as the Next of Kin to the entire late Anyene's family.

Therefore, I sincerely seek your indulgence to present your name to the Vault as the Next of Kin to the late Anyene's. Please do not border how this will be possible because as a senior and respected lawyer, I will use my position and all the legal documents in my possession as legal evidence/proof to influence this matter for the Vault to release the entire $15.2 million US Dollars to you, only with assurance from you that this fund will be safe and intact pending my physical arrival in your country for sharing and investment.

So if you will be able to handle this amount in strict confidence and trust according to what will be our percentage agreement for mutual benefit because this is a life time opportunity and it's important we take advantage of this now.

All I need now is your full co-operation in this regard to make it happen. And you have nothing to worry about because I will follow genuine and legal methods as required by the law of the land to protect your identity and reputation and I assure you that both you and I will have a lot to benefit from this timely opportunity. If you are capable and sincerely ready to partake and partner with me in this Deal then get back to me urgently for more details on how we can actualize this fund safely without further waste of time.

I look forward to hearing from your sincere response to this message!

Yours sincerely,
Barrister Austin Donald (SAN)
Solicitors and Advocate (Supreme Court)
