"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Greetings to you and all members of your family. I write to seek your assistance for an important transaction of mutual benefit to both of us. My name is Catherine M'Bengue, 21 years old and the only surviving child of my late parents. My late father was a wealthy cocoa farmer in our country Cote d'Ivoire before he was poisoned to death last year during a business trip while my mother died few years back.



I inherited the sum of Nine Million United States Dollars (US$9.000,000.00) from my late father. The money was deposited at a suspense account of a leading bank here by my father before his death and he registered my name as the next of Kin at the bank. I wish to claim and transfer the fund to your country and I need your assistance in the following ways:



1) To assist me claim out the funds from the bank and to provide a bank account into which the money would be transferred to.

2) To serve as my guardian in the investment and management of this funds.

(3) To make arrangement for me to come over to your country to continue my education and to secure a resident permit in your country.
